Before Your Audit
In preparation for your audit with Dun-Rite Insulation, you should:

Arrange to be home to meet and consult with us
-
Make a list of items or issues you're aware of
-
Know your home's square footage & type of mechanical equipment (ex: furnace & water heater's year and date last serviced)
-
Provide access to 12 months of utility bills or energy usage
-
Make sure there is clear access to crawlspaces, attics, and mechanical equipment
-
Open blinds and curtains for optimal light
-
Extinguish fireplaces and/or wood-burning stoves at least 24 hours before your appointment and remove ashes
-
Secure pets the day of your audit
-
Expect the process to take between 2-4 hours

During Your Audit
Dun-Rite Insulation will perform the following services during your audit.

Visual inspection of your living space, attic, basement, or crawlspace

Information gathering (see Before Your Audit)

Blower door test (big red door) to measure the air tightness of your home

Combustion safety and ventilation tests to ensure mechanicals, such as your furnace and water heater, are operating correctly and there is sufficient air circulation.

Infrared camera scan (optional) to identify air leaks and lack of insulation in walls. Scanning usage depends on the external temperature
